Did you know that Santa Claus is the patron of Bari and that he is buried in this city? Well actually, not all of him is in Bari. Part of his body is also distributed between Venice and Rimini.
Our beloved Babbo Natale, San Nicola or Santa Claus (originating from the Dutch name Sinterklaas) is the great protector of the city of Bari. From his good works during his years as bishop in Turkey in favor of the youngest derives the western tradition of giving gifts to children on the eve of Christmas, the night of December 24.
